Cleburne County Chamber of Commerce Hires New Executive Director (Heflin, AL)
The Cleburne County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Tanya Morrison Maloney has joined the Chamber as the new Executive Director. Emily Brown, the Chamber’s current ED, will be leaving the organization at the end of February to spend more time with her busy family. “Emily has been the life-blood of the Ch…amber for two and half years and will be missed; however we are looking forward to this new chapter,” said Steven Lines, current President of the Chamber of Commerce.
Tanya is a native of Cleburne County growing up in Abel. After graduating the University of Georgia in 2001 with a degree in Political Science, Tanya moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked in Congress focusing her efforts on agriculture policies and economic development. For the last six years, she was a Senior Associate with the renowned lobbying firm Cassidy & Associates where she successfully advocated on behalf of clients such as Fortune 500 companies, states, municipalities, and chambers of commerce in the areas of defense, economic development, and federal appropriations.
“It is an exciting time for the Chamber,” exclaimed Mr. Lines. We are stronger than we’ve ever been, but we have a lot a room to grow. Tanya brings to the table a wealth of experience that will help our organization reach its fullest potential.” “Cleburne County has more potential for economic growth than any other area in the state of Alabama. The best way to advertise that is through a strong Chamber of Commerce. I look forward to working with our current and future members to solidify the economic health of our County,” said Mrs. Maloney.
Tanya, her husband T.J. Maloney, and their new daughter Maisie have made their home in Heflin, AL, and are members of Heflin First United Methodist Church.
