The Alabama Chambers - Chamber Champion Award recognizes the commendable performance and leadership of an emerging Alabama chamber professional.
Nomination Criteria:
- 5 or less total years of employed service in the chamber industry. Does not have to be consecutive years.
- All full time (30+hours/week) chamber employees are eligible.
- Must demonstrate professionalism and exemplary leadership to his/her chamber and community.
- Should possess an abiding desire to advance the chamber profession and industry.
- Should demonstrate non-chamber community involvement such as civic participation , religious/charitable/educational related activities, etc.
- Should be an active participant in professional development activities.
An out-of-state review panel of chamber executives will serve as the review panel and selection committee.

The Chamber Champion Award will be presented at the Executive Leadership Conference Awards Dinner "Alabama Chambers Night of Champions" presented by Alabama Municipal Electric Authority.
2024 Chamber Champion
Michelle Epling, president, of the Madison Chamber of Commerce was named Alabama Chamber Champion. Created in 2020, the Alabama Chamber Champion award recognizes an emerging leader with five or fewer years of professional service to the chamber industry. Her nominator stated of Mrs. Epling, "Michelle is one of the most passionate, energetic, thoughtful, and committed individuals I have ever known. Her extensive and successful background in sales and training have proven invaluable in her role. She has brought an unmatched level of professionalism to the Chamber. Her unique gifts of communication and connection are evident in her interactions. People are drawn to her outgoing personality, and she finds great satisfaction in serving others. She is truly a servant leader."
