During the 2024 Alabama Chambers Professional Development Conference presented by Alabama Self-Insured Worker's Compensation Fund, held in Orange Beach, AL, nine chamber professionals were recognized with the Distinguished Service Award for their career achievements and tenure of service to the chamber industry. Professionals are eligible for recognition following 10 years of service to the profession. Those receiving recognition this year include the following: Debbie Ashburn, Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce, 10 years; Stephanie Calhoun, Auburn Chamber of Commerce, 20 years; Tangela Frazier, Auburn Chamber of Commerce, 29 years; Nancy Hewston, Mobile Chamber, 14 years; Cassie Medley, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, 13 years; Sandra McGuire, Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, 20 years; Diane Poole, Leeds Chamber of Commerce, 15 years; Tina Porioux, SouthWest Mobile County Chamber of Commerce, 11 years; and Patty VanderWal, Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, 16 years.
